I’m back to thinking bullet points are the way to write a post.
- Got a new boyfriend, with whom I am madly in love;
- Decided what career I want (archivist) and figured out how to get there (MLS degree)
- Finished my first year of grad school;Went to Turkey and Greece (Greece was better, but Athens sucked);
- Got a well-paying internship for the summer;
- Decided what to do my thesis over (women’s roles during World War I and II);
- And started reconnecting with some old friends, albeit via email.
I have not finished a single book that I’ve started, which bugs the tar out of me. I’ve started numerous wonderful books, but I just cannot commit to the end.
I think I want to start taking pictures. But I don’t know what I’d shoot. My office? Even I don’t like looking at my office. My projects? Nah. My boyfriend? Maybe. But he doesn’t like being photographed and I am not going to assume everyone wants to see countless pictures of him (although he’s bloody handsome, in my humble opinion). We shall see.
I’ve gotten to the point of being comfortable enough to really and truly experiment in the kitchen. And the results have been delicious.
It really throws me when I think that some people lived their entire lives in a single century. For example? Clark Gable was born in 1901 and died in 1960. My great-grandmother is another example.
My boyfriend fits the qualities that I listed in a previous post. Funny thing is that he was one of the boys that made me come up with those rules in the first place.
Sometimes you just don’t know how much you miss doing something until you start thinking about how you never do it anymore. Like me and blogging.
One of the things I dislike the most about working from 8-5 is that I can't celebrate Champagne Thursday anymore. I miss Champagne Thursday.
I'm still struggling with the whole working full-time, then going home and needing to cook and clean, but desperately wanting to play with my boyfriend and friends and wanting to relax. Let me know if you have any tips for juggling that.
I think that's enough for now. I've missed y'all and hope to be back more often.
Think smaller when you're thinking of what to take pictures of. Look at some of the things that Lizzi and Thauna photograph; they are often very intimate.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori!!!!
ReplyDeleteThings sound like they're going pretty darn well for you :-) And I bet all of your followers would like to see pics of your bf!
As for trying to balance life with an 8-5 work schedule... it's hard. But the only advice I have is to make sure that you set aside at least one night or day all to yourself. Sure you'll miss your bf & friends, but ME-time is so important and you'll feel a little more centered.
Hope to see more from you soon!!! :-)
If you are interested in doing the photography thing let me know, I have been dying to drag my camera out of the closet and finish the roll of film that is in it and start new ones. I hate going by myself though so haven't been to shoot pics in ages. We can find things to go take pictures of and it will give us something to do.
