Thoughts On a Snow Day

Day three of a snow vacation.

I have squandered the first two, partly in the decadence of staying in bed for so long, partly pure squandering.  As a good friend pointed out last night, people may enjoy not having to scramble to get stuff done this week, but they'll have two book reviews due next week instead of just one.  So, I choose to get some work done today.

I love my little black notebook of thoughts, lists, and scribblings.  It feels very mysterious.

I don't think that the random opportunities and possibilities that pop up will ever cease to amaze me.

I think "random" and "absurd" do a fair job of describing my life right now and I am better than OK with that; I embrace it.

Every once in a while, you discover certain authors whose prose just take your breath away and make you marvel.  I am fortunate enough to have discovered two such authors.  What about you?

I love what a difference re-framing can make.  Emptiness is no longer a void; it's a possibility.

Today is Champagne Thursday.  Today I'll celebrate:
New sheets
Snow
Faulkner and Hemingway
Possibilities and random absurdities
You, my dear

Now, what will you celebrate?

  2. Beatiful post and blog. I love snow days, maybe because I hardly ever get them. There's something so special about a white sheet covering the world.

  3. 3 days! I'm jealous. I only got one and I only had one class that day, so I only missed work which I wanted to go to. Glad you've spent your time wisely. :)
